PEÑASCO MISSION CENTER

Stan and Becky Tedrow are veteran missionaries in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico since 1999, and retired senior pastors of Peñasco Christian Fellowship, a thriving bi-lingual church which they planted. Due to the proximity of Puerto Peñasco to the border, they have received numerous short-term missions groups over the years.  However, accommodations and meals for the groups have often proven to be a challenge, and they have frequently desired a more adequate provision for the teams.

Through a series of conversations with Dr. and Mrs. Young Kim, who are friends and frequent visitors at PCF, a vision began to form.  After returning to their home in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. and Mrs. Kim continued to pray, and the Lord placed a vision in their hearts to see a missions facility developed.  They then communicated this to Pastor Stan and Becky.  As they all continued in prayer, Pastor Stan reflected on the desire which he had felt for many years to develop a missions school and Bible school in Puerto Peñasco.

Pastor Stan then called long-time friends, Leon and Teresa Shearer, who were just returning from a missions trip to SE Asia and shared his vision with them.  Since they have set up a Leadership Training International school at PCF, and they have a great love for what the Lord is doing in this church, they immediately began to pray and soon felt God calling them to be involved.

Meanwhile, a several months search for land was brought to fruition as 2 hectares (about 5 acres) of land was purchased 1 mile north of Puerto Peñasco.  The property was purchased by Dr. and Mrs. Kim through their foundation, Salt and Light Ministries.

Seeing how the Lord has brought the team and the land together, we are all now seeking God for wisdom, strength and provision to complete the three-phase construction of the facilities and establish the Missions Center, the Missions Training Center and the Bible school.
